Martha Harris Myron – Contributor
Author | Journalist • Bermudian Storyteller
Martha Harris Myron brings a uniquely personal perspective to the story of Bermuda, combining a lifetime of island memories with decades of research, writing, and professional experience.
A native Bermudian born into a Spanish Point family during the Second World War, Martha grew up in a Bermuda of food rationing, kitchen hand pumps, kerosene heaters, close-knit neighbourhoods, and a way of island life that has largely disappeared.
An author and journalist, Martha wrote the Moneywise personal finance column for The Royal Gazette for 25 years. Her wide-ranging career has encompassed medical technology, garment design, real estate development, accounting, taxation, international financial planning, and investment advisory services. She later earned a Master of Laws in International Taxation and Financial Services, summa cum laude.
Martha is the author of The Bermuda Islander: The Dawn of New Beginnings, which combines Bermuda’s maritime and economic history with financial education and reflections on island life.
As a contributor to Bermudian History, Martha draws upon her research, professional expertise, family history, and memories of an earlier Bermuda to help preserve the stories of how Bermudians lived, worked, adapted, and built the island community we know today.
